What is Cl@ve?

Cl@ve is a system to identify you to the Public Administrations electronically.

It is a secure system with which you do not need to remember several passwords to access the services of the Public Administration.

What do you need to use Cl@ve?

To use Cl@ve, you need to register with the system and provide the following information:

  • DNI, NIE, electronic certificate or other document that prove your identity.
  • Mobile phone number.

Only a DNI or NIE can be associated with a mobile phone number.

This ensures that only the registered person can access the codes that are sent to that phone.

Notice

There is now a new way to register with Cl@ve.
It's with video identification.
Therefore, we have updated the section "How to register in Cl@ve".
It needs to be reviewed by a person with difficulties of understanding.
When you review it, we’ll know if it’s understood.

How can you register with Cl@ve?

There are 4 ways to register at Cl@ve:

  1. With automatic video identification, with the mobile App Cl@ve.
    This is a basic registry, it only serves for some services.
    Later, they review the files and give you the advanced record.

  2. Through the internet, without certificate electrónico.Este is a basic registry, it only serves for some services.

  3. Through the internet, with electronic certificate or electronic DNI.
    The registration through the internet is done in the electronic headquarters of the Tax Agency

Uses of the Cl@ve system

There are 3 ways to use the Cl@ve system:

  1. Cl@ve PIN
    It gives you a temporary password every time you need to do a procedure.
    It is more useful for people who access it from time to time.

  2. Permanent cl@ve
    With this system you have a password that lasts much longer, although you also have to renew it.
    It is more useful for people who access it on a regular basis.

  3. Mobile cl@ve
    With this system you receive a notification on your mobile, and you do not need any password.

Registration offices Cl@ve

You have to go to a Cl@ve registration office to register in person.

Some offices request a prior appointment.

Cl@ve Signature

The Cl@ve system allows you to sign with centralized electronic certificates.

These certificates can be used on any computer or device and you do not need to have the certificate saved.

To use the centralized signature you have to perform the following steps:

  • Register at the Advanced Level of the Cl@ve system.
  • activate the Permanent Cl@ve.
  • and create the signature certificate.

Rules and Laws

  • Order PRE/1838/2014, of 8 October which publishes the Council of Ministers Agreement of 19 September 2014 approving Cl@ve, the common platform of the State Public Administrative Sector for identification, authentication and electronic signature through the use of agreed keys.
  • Resolution of 14 December 2015 the Directorate of Information and Communication Technologies, which establishes the technical requirements necessary for the development and application of the Cl@ve system.
