Across the Catalogue of Public Information Multiple services and data sets of the public sector are accessed, classified by: categories, format, publisher, etc.
A data set is a series of data linked to each other and grouped within the same information system for potential reuse. These Datasets (in its Anglo-Saxon name) are hosted on the servers of the different publishing bodies to which it gives access datos.gob.es.

They offer a wide range of information (censuses, directories, images…) from different management areas or categories.

Applications, whether institutional or private, free or free, automate and contextualize the information. In this way, they transform the resources released by the administrations into products and services of high social and/or economic value.
There are as many kinds of applications on open data in the public sector as types of information and potential users can be described.
In any case, the most popular products and services are those derived from the reuse of information from the business-economic, geographic, cartographic, legal, transport, sociodemographic, statistical, and meteorological fields, among others.
To upload and share an application in datos.gob.es you only have to go to the Interact section, in the section Report on and select the Applications option. To register an application you have to fill in the form that once sent will be reviewed by the team of datos.gob.es before its publication in the section Impact, section Applications.

Approved the reform of the European regulations on open data and reuse of public sector information, in the OJEU of 26/06/2019 (informative note):
DIRECTIVE (EU) 2019/1024 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 20 June 2019 on open data and the reuse of public sector information (recast).
Spain has a deadline of 17 July 2021 to transpose this directive into Spanish law.
