The General Administration of the State has organs throughout the national territory located in the different Autonomous Communities (regions). They are as follows:
- Delegations of Government. They represent the central government in each Autonomous Community (region). They provide services for citizens and companies. They coordinate the General Administration of the State in it. They collaborate with the Autonomous Community and local administrations.
- Subdelegations of Government. In many autonomous communities the Government Delegations include Government Subdelegations in the different provinces. The Subdelegations manage the services of the State in the province.
- Insular Directorates of the General State Administration. On some islands, State Island Directorates have been created. These depend on the Government Delegation or the Government Subdelegation. They manage the State services on the Island.
- Services for citizens and companies: Government delegations manage State services in the Autonomous Communities, these services are the responsibility of different ministries. This makes it possible to rationalise costs and organisation. Among other services are the following: Foreigners, Civil Protection, State Security Bodies and Forces, High Inspection of Education to mention a few. These services are called Integrated Services.
The General Administration of the State has services in the CCAA with a special workload or uniqueness. This justifies a different organization of these services.
The Ministries and Institutions of the State have their own delegations in the Autonomous Communities. These delegations provide their own services to citizens and businesses. These include the Public Service of State Employment, Social Security, Delegations of Finance, Defense, Cadastre to mention a few examples. These services are considered as services not integrated in the Delegations.
